Defender Ibou Touray and midfielder Joel Cotterill have both received call-ups for the upcoming September international period.
The pair will head out on international duty on Monday, with Ibby called up again for the Gambia national team, whilst Joel will represent Wales U21s. Both players will miss next weekend’s game against AFC Wimbledon as a result.
Touray’s Gambia face a huge game against Congo, in their bid to qualify for January’s African Cup of Nations. The Scorpions go into their final group game needing a point to book their place at the tournament, for just the second time in their history – but defeat of any kind would see Congo qualify at their expense.
That game is set to take place at 8pm on Sunday 10th September, 8pm KO BST. Should the African nation go on to qualify, Touray could become the first ever County player to represent his nation at a major international tournament, whilst at the club.
Having made his debut for the U21s side in March, 18-year-old Joel has again been called up by Wales for their Euro U21s Qualifier against Lithuania U21s. That game takes place on Tuesday 12th September, 4pm KO, with Wales looking to build on a 2-2 draw with Denmark in their opening qualifier.
We wish both of them the very best of luck during their time with their national teams.
