Referee Craig Hicks has been selected as the match official for Thursday night’s League Two fixture away at in-form Walsall.
The experienced Hicks has been an EFL referee since 2017, taking charge of almost 150 games in that time – although this will be his first time refereeing County. He last refereed Walsall in August 2021, overseeing a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United.
Last season he refereed 36 games in total, mainly in League One and League Two, issuing 112 yellow cards and seven red cards. So far this campaign, he has overseen 17 games in League One (7), League Two (4), the Carabao Cup (1), FA Cup (1) and Papa John’s Trophy (4), showing 57 yellows and one red.
His assistants on the day will be Declan O’Shea and Mark Jones, whilst the fourth official will be Peter Gooch.
