Referee Andy Davies has been selected to oversee Saturday’s League Two fixture between County and Colchester United at Edgeley Park.
Davies refereed County for the one and only time all the way back in 2011, when he oversaw our 1-1 draw away at Kidderminster Harries in what was then the Blue Square Premier. It will be the second time this season he has overseen a game involving Colchester, also taking charge of their 1-1 draw at home to Mansfield Town in September.
He took charge of 25 games in all competitions last season, 18 of which came in the Championship, during which time he issued 86 yellow cards, two red cards and awarded three penalties.
In the seven games the official has taken charge of so far this season, he has shown 31 yellows, one red and is yet to award a spot-kick. His last game came on October 29th in the Championship, where he oversaw Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-0 win over relegation rivals Rotherham United.
The Assistant Referees at Edgeley Park will be Richard Wild and Carl Fitch-Jackson, whilst Ed Duckworth will be on Fourth Official duties.
