For the second month running, Dave Challinor has been named as the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month after guiding County to a perfect October.
County won all six of their games in League Two last month to open up a five-point gap at the top of the table, extending our winning run in all competitions to 12 matches – a new all-time club record.
It’s the fourth time that Dave has picked up the award since the start of last season – no other manager has won it more than twice over that same period.
Tanto Olaofe was also nominated for the Player of the Month award after hitting five goals last month, but missed out on the award to Salford City striker Matt Smith.
Upon receiving the award, Dave Challinor said:
“To win the award back-to-back is a great achievement by everybody at the club, players and staff, and reinforces that we’re doing things well at the moment and getting the results to back that up.
“I still think the difference between our first six games and the last ten games is minimal, but we’ve minimised the mistakes at the back and been ruthless and clinical at the other end. When you combine those two things, it’s a pretty good recipe for winning football matches and that has to continue for us now, we have to ride this wave of momentum for as long as we possibly can.”
