The match highlight’s from Wednesday night’s stunning FA Cup replay victory over Chesterfield are now available, as County took their second chance to storm through to the First Round of the FA Cup.
Looking to make amends for defeat on penalties in the original tie, the Hatters made the perfect start just three minutes in, as Richie Bennett hooked home acrobatically after John Rooney’s effort had been saved.
Both sides created good chance in an entertaining first-half, but County were always in control, and we deservedly doubled our lead on 35 minutes, Alex Reid running on to Bennett’s flick to slide it home confidently.
Jim Gannon’s side continued to press for more goals in the second-half, and were awarded two penalties in the space of ten minutes, both of which were confidently dispatched by John Rooney, taking his tally for the season to seven already, as County cruised through to the next round.
