Festus Arthur voted as Grahame White Young Player of the Year

Festus Arthur has been voted by supporters as their winner of the Grahame White Young Player of the Year Award.

This award was created to remember our former Vice-Chairman Grahame White, who did so much to keep the club alive in the late 1980s.

Victory for Festus makes it a double for the young defender, who also picked up the George Haigh young Player of the Year earlier in the evening.

It’s been an unforgettable breakthrough season for the former Stockport Town and Oldham defender, emerging as a key player in defence alongside Ash Palmer, making 35 appearances in total, scoring two goals.

His powerful play – helped with his cameo appearance in last season’s trophy parade – has quickly made him a cult hero among County fans, and this award caps a season he will no doubt never forget.

Congratulations Festus, you’ve earned it!
