First Friendlies Announced

Stockport County will visit Guiseley AFC on July 20 for a pre-season friendly, following a trip to Cheadle Heath Nomads on July 6.

Having been relegated from the National League in 2018, Guiseley, managed by Marcus Bignot and Ross O’Neill, finished 19th last season, just above the drop zone, but ended the campaign nine points clear of relegation.

The Hatters faced the Lions twice last season, with both fixtures ending in deadlock.

Sam Walker scored the equaliser as County drew 1-1 at Edgeley Park last August, whilst Darren Stephenson found the back of the net as the two sides repeated the 1-1 score line at Nethermoor in February.

County have faced Guiseley six times since dropping into the National League North, and have yet to come out on top.

The fixture comes after a visit to Cheadle Heath Nomads. The Nomads will be celebrating their centenary year this coming season, and will open their pre-season schedule by hosting the Hatters on July 6.

The fixtures will both kick off at 3pm and ticket details will be announced in due course.
