Hanifa Douglas named as Stockport County Ladies Managers’ Player of the Year

Hanifa Douglas has been named as the Stockport County Ladies Managers’ Player of the Season after a great season following promotion.

A key component in last season’s promotion success for the Ladies Team, Hanifa has enjoyed another superb campaign for the Hatters, scoring four and assisting four in 14 appearances to become manager Ronnie Green’s pick for Player of the Year.

County Ladies’ Community Welfare Officer Pete Attfield said of Hanifa ‘She is one of those players opposition teams find very difficult to play against. Either playing just behind the strikers or up front it is almost impossible to predict where she’s going to pop up. This is evidenced by the fact that she has been nominated as the opposition’s Player of the Match four times this season and is joint second highest scorer.

Her ability to read the game and open up defences is one of our key weapons against experienced teams in the FA Women’s National League. Skillful on the ball and a tenacious tackler, Hanifa is a popular choice for the Stockport County Women’s Player of the Season.’

Congratulations on a great season, Hanifa!
