Hill appointed as Assistant Manager

The club is pleased to announce the appointment of former Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill as Assistant Manager to Dave Challinor.

The 43-year-old joins the club after leaving Hartlepool United earlier this week, having been appointed at Victoria Park by Dave Challinor just a month ago.

Hill enjoyed a successful playing career throughout the footballing pyramid with spells at Tranmere, Oldham, Stoke and Crystal Palace, before going on to captain QPR in the Premier League during his six year spell at Loftus Road.

Following his retirement, his first step into coaching came at League One Fleetwood Town in 2018, when he was appointed as first-team coach under then-manager Joey Barton.

Despite being highly rated during his time there, Hill left the club in January 2021, following Barton to Bristol Rovers, where he remained until August before leaving due to family reasons.

Having worked well with Dave Challinor during his brief spell at Hartlepool, Hill now makes the move to Edgeley Park to link up with him again, and will join the existing coaching set-up alongside First-Team Coach Dave Conlon and Goalkeeping Coach Shwan Jalal in supporting the County boss.
