Following extensive enquiries and close cooperation with both Merseyside and Greater Manchester Police we have been able to establish that the individual who entered the field of play at Southport on Saturday was not a Stockport County supporter, but he has affiliations with a Football League club based in the north west.
The matter is now in the hands of Greater Manchester Police and we will continue to support the authorities in any way we can.
