The club can confirm that defender Jayden Richardson has returned to parent club Aberdeen in order to complete a move to Colchester United.
The defender has made 17 appearances for the club in the first half of the season in a variety of different positions, providing two assists.
He now joins a Colchester side sat 22nd in League Two, having recently appointed former Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley as their new manager.
