Hear post-match reaction from the manager Jim Gannon after County made a winning return to National League action with a clinical display away at Bromley.
Jim was really pleased with the result despite it not being our best performance of the season, and was happy with the way the team stuck to their task and managed ‘the dirty side of the game’ well.
Having brought goalscorer Alex Reid off for Sam Minihan at the break, the manager explained the thinking behind that decision and how it helped the side defensively in the second half.
He praised the quality of John Rooney, as the midfielder clocked up his 10th goal already this season with a calm finish in the second-half.
With fans back in the stadium for the first time in a competitive game for nine months, the County boss described it as a ‘surreal’ experience, but saw it as a start and a step in the right direction towards a return to normality.
With the side back in London on Tuesday for the trip to Barnet, Jim discussed the team’s plans between now and then, emphasising the importance of recovery between now and then.
