Manager Jim Gannon gives his post-match thoughts after a ruthless second-half display from County saw them see off Dover Athletic 3-0 at Edgeley Park.
Against a ‘gritty and determined’ Dover side, Jim was pleased with the way the side continued to ask the right questions in order to find that crucial breakthrough.
Jim was happy with the impact that Man of the Match Alex Reid made as a half-time substitute, winning the penalty for the first before scoring the second himself, but also had special praise for striker Richie Bennett, who Jim described as ‘unplayable.’
With six points from nine and a place in the play-offs at this early stage of the season, the manager was satisfied with the start made to the season during what has been an adaption process for the new-look team – and he believes the side can only get better as the season goes on.
Looking ahead to next week, Jim talked about the challenges lying in wait with two away games against Wealdstone and Chesterfield, with fatigue potentially becoming a factor, but expressed confidence in the quality of the squad to see us through that tough period.
