Jim Gannon Post-Match Interview | County 4-0 Chesterfield

Manager Jim Gannon was delighted with his sides’ response to Saturday’s defeat, as County advanced to the First Round of the FA Cup in style with a 4-0 win over Chesterfield.

Jim was also pleased with the reaction after the original tie, which Chesterfield won on penalties, with the side finding the right solutions to ensure there was no chance of a repeat of that defeat.

The County boss spoke about the change in formation to a 4-4-2, and the tactical reasonings behind that, and was delighted with the way the team took to it.

He had special praise for the performance of Connor Jennings on the left-wing, with his composure and quality on the ball really shining through, on what was his best performance of the season so far.

With six first-team players currently out with injuries, Jim spoke about finding solutions in difficult situations, and was happy with the way the players managed to find their own solutions in the game.

Looking ahead to our First Round tie against Rochdale, the manager is looking forward to the test of facing a League One side and measuring ourselves up against that level – although expressed disappointment that the fans wouldn’t be there to see it.
