You can now listen to all the post-match reaction from manager Jim Gannon, as County made it three wins in a row with a stunning late fightback at Wealdstone.
Although Jim was delighted with the character shown by the players to come back and win that game, he believes those late goals masked aspects of our game that still need to be worked on moving forward.
The manager was delighted for Richie Bennett after the striker scored his first County goal to make it 2-2, at a crucial time in the game, and was impressed with his contribution to the team as a whole whilst leading the line.
Describing that equaliser as the moment ‘the pendulum of the game changed’ in County’s favour, Jim paid tribute to the fitness and athleticism of the team to keep going so relentlessly in the final 15 minutes.
On hat-trick hero John Rooney, the County boss was delighted with the way the midfielder is adapting to playing in the more advanced number 10 role, finding more and more space as the game wore on and punishing Wealdstone emphatically.
Despite County now sitting second in the National League table, having scored more goals than anybody else, Jim wasn’t getting carried away with the opening day defeat at Torquay still fresh in the mind, but was pleased by the work done so far by everyone at the Club.
