Jim Gannon Pre-Match Interview | Bromley v County

Manager Jim Gannon gives his pre-match thoughts ahead of this weekend’s National League clash with Bromley at Hayes Lane, with the County boss keen to get back to League action after a month away.

Having drawn Premier League West Ham United in the FA Cup Third Round on Monday, Jim gives his reaction to what he thinks will be a brilliant and exciting tie for both the fans and players.

Looking back to Sunday’s win against Yeovil, the manager was delighted to see Connor Jennings finally get off the mark in his second spell at the Club, describing it as the ‘icing on the cake’ after some impressive performances from Connor in recent games.

Despite the frustration of not playing a league game since October 31st, Jim felt that the break away has provided the opportunity to regalvanise the squad ahead of an important run of games over the festive period.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s game, Jim sees Bromley as one of many teams in contention for the play-off places this season, although emphasised there was a long way to go before anyone can establish who the promotion contenders will be.

With Bromley’s Hayes Lane ground including a 4G pitch, he spoke about a change in approach to training this week in preparation for that, and the different elements to the game that a different playing surface can bring.

Finally, there was some team news, and an update on squad fitness ahead of the trip to Bromley, and also to Barnet the following Tuesday.
