Manager Jim Gannon gives his thoughts ahead of what he expects to be a close game against Weymouth at Edgeley Park on Saturday.
Reflecting back on Tuesday’s draw with Solihull, the manager was pleased to see what he described as a really purposeful performance in reaction to our FA Cup defeat to Chesterfield last Saturday.
Jim was pleased at the way in which the team defended from the front on Tuesday, with every player contributing to us keeping our second clean-sheet of the season.
He provided promising injury updates on the likes of Lois Maynard and Mark Kitching ahead of this weekend’s game, but stressed that his confidence after Tuesday’s performance that whatever team he puts out will be more than capable.
On Weymouth, the County boss expects a difficult challenge against a ‘well organised’ team who have yet to lose a game by more than one goal, although he is hopeful of an open and expensive game this weekend.
Finally there was a special tribute to Ben Hinchliffe and Ash Palmer, both of whom are on the verge of reaching major milestones in their County careers.
