We caught up with manager Jim Gannon at training yesterday ahead of our season opener at Torquay United, to discuss his thoughts ahead of the new season.
Jim expressed his excitement at finally starting the season, saying everyone was just happy to get back to what they love doing, playing football. Although the season will commence behind closed doors, he believes it is the right decision for the season to start, and was pleased with the news that Government funding will be provided.
The manager reflected on what has been a strange pre-season for the side, having originally planned for the season to start in September, but he believes that the extra month’s preparation will serve the team well going forward.
As the focus turned to this weekend’s game at Torquay, there was talk of the threat that Torquay could pose, as well as an update on any injuries ahead of the game.
With County named as the pre-season National League title favourites by the bookmakers this season, Jim also went into detail on what he would consider to be a successful season at Edgeley Park.
To hear all of that and more from Jim, including talk about Carrington, pre-match preparation and Ryan Croasdale, watch the video below.
