Jim praises the Blue & White Army

County boss Jim Gannon has praised the Blue & White Army for the part they played in last night’s fixture at Notts County.

Meadow Lane was a wall of noise, particularly in the second half, as the Hatters’ fans roared the team back from a one goal deficit to secure a point. The support also drew lots of plaudits from Notts County fans after the game.

Despite road closures and a lack of trains, almost 1,000 County fans made the tricky midweek trip to Nottingham to provide an incredible level of support.

The fans got their reward in the second half when Elliot Osborne coolly slotted home the equaliser to get the Hatters up and running for the new campaign.

Jim Gannon said: “We gave them something to shout about, and the fans gave the team such good energy. I was disappointed to go behind, but they were fantastic and you know me, I’ve always given credit to the supporters.”

“During my first stint here, and again this time around, I’m pleased we’ve given them the 12th man shirt, because they can make a huge difference home and away, but I think the players gave them something to respond to and I was confident, the fans were confident, they kept their positivity and buoyancy going and I’m pleased we got something for them, our first goal and our first point, and now we’ve got a platform to build on.”
