Midfielder John Rooney gives his thoughts on an impressive start to life at Edgeley Park, ahead of this weekend’s game against Weymouth in the National League.
Looking back to Tuesday’s draw with Solihull Moors, John said the lads were disappointed not to win the game, but if they can back that up with three points on Saturday then it could be seen as a point gained.
After partnering Ryan Croasdale in midfield for the first time on Tuesday, John spoke about what it was like playing alongside him, having played against him many times in recent years.
On his start to life as a County player, he spoke about his new role in the team as a number 10, playing further forward than he did at Barrow, and how that’s helping him to continue scoring goals.
Looking ahead to the game at the weekend, the Summer signing thinks it’s difficult to now quite what to expect when facing a newly promoted side early on, citing the recent form Wealdstone as an example, and so believes it will be a close encounter on Saturday.
