Josh Schofield heads out on loan

Goalkeeper Josh Schofield has today joined North West Counties side Stockport Town on a season-long youth loan deal.

Josh, 18, signed a one-year pro deal with the Club last Summer, having previously spent time in the academies of Chester and Blackburn Rovers.

Having impressed during his time training with the first-team squad, Josh agreed a new one-year deal with the Club over the Summer, and now heads out to Stockport Sports Village in order to gain valuable first-team experience.

Goalkeeper Coach Shwan Jalal said:

“Josh spent his first year at the club learning from the senior goalkeepers and adapting himself to the demands on full time football. Towards the end of the season, it was evident to see that his performances in training were of a high standard.

“We believe that going out on loan, playing competitive games whilst still training full time with us, is the next stage of his development. The opportunity at Stockport Town is a great fit for both parties and we shall be monitoring him closely.”
