We recently got out and about to spread some good news and visit Stockport County’s supporting members of the weekly draw partnership. Armed with our giant promotional cheque and the news that he was a £1000 winner, we took the short journey from Edgeley Park to see Taz Rehman on Ingleton Road.
It was great to tell Taz more about the NYCDA Weekly Draw and all the great work the club do in the local community. As a supporter of all things Stockport and the people who live there, Taz was delighted to find out more on the Health and Well Being programmes that the County Community Trust deliver.
It was also fantastic to hear many of Taz’s tales about supporting the club, which stretched as far back as seeing George Best play for County. He even recalled the visit of the late Queen Elizabeth II to Edgeley Park, as part of her jubilee celebrations in 1977.
This started a life-long affinity with County, that whilst not getting to as many games as he once did due to his work commitments, did see him enjoy watching many games over the years, with his favourite players of all time including Tony Dinning and Lee Todd.
