Mantack signs-up

Pacy winger Kallum Mantack has signed a short-term deal to begin the new season with Stockport County.

20-year-old Kallum scored two goals in ten appearances for the Hatters last season after arriving on loan from Oldham Athletic.

Ironically, he scored on his County debut coming off the bench in a 4-1 home win over this weekend’s opponents, FC United.

Unfortunately, the Wythenshawe lad saw his loan spell cut short after scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against Alfreton, when a horrific tackle left him with a broken fibula and dislocated ankle last December.

Manager Jim Gannon said: “I asked the Board for additional resource to accommodate Kallum, because I always felt it was a terrible way for his time with County to come to an end.

“He will give us options in both the wide areas and as an attacking full-back, so I’m glad to have him back with us. He’s worked really hard on his rehabilitation and looks strong as we start the new campaign.”

Kallum left Oldham in the summer after three first team outings, and having previously played for both Alfreton and FC United on loan.
