Ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup tie against Chesterfield at Edgeley Park, we caught up with wing-back Mark Kitching at Carrington to get his pre-match thoughts.
Mark spoke about this sensational strike against the Spireites in the league last Saturday, saying he had never caught a ball better on his right foot in his life – before dedicating the goal to his late Dad on his birthday.
The defender went into detail on his role in the team at wing-back and how well it suited his game, also touching on the importance of being able to share the workload of such a demanding position with James Jennings.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s game, the defender doesn’t expect an easy game despite having just beaten Chesterfield away from home, believing that result will only motivate the away side further, and County will have to be at their best to progress to the first round.
