Marshals required for the Hatters Half

The Stockport County Supporters Co-operative stage the 3rd Hatters Half marathon on Sunday 3rd September.

This is the Co-op’s flagship event and has raised £10,000 for the Guardian Account to date. The aim is to help purchase an asset for Stockport County, on behalf of the supporters.

We are pleased to link up with the Wellspring homeless charity and resource centre this year. Thirty runners will be running for this fabulous local charity and they will be raising money via sponsorship.

The Hatters Half starts at Edgeley Park, passes along Northgate Road and Brinksway, before joining the Trans Pennine Trail at the Woolpack pub. The route follows the River Mersey all the way to Northenden, where the race forms a loop and then returns to the finish line in Alexandra Park in Edgeley. To enable this event to be a success, we need more volunteers to marshal this event. We can offer a free Stockport County ticket for the game against North Ferriby on 23rd September. If you can help, please email Race Director, John Giles at [email protected]

There is a marshal briefing session after the Gainsborough Trinity on Sat 26th August, at 5pm in the Bungalow (Edgeley and Shaw Heath Labour Club).

Our Guardian Account Hero, Des Greene is taking part in the race and has been very busy training and fundraising. If you can support our Hero, please visit – https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/scscGuardianAccount

We hope you can join us and make this another great event!
