Ollie Yates has been selected as the match referee for Saturday’s clash between Mansfield Town and Stockport County in League Two.
Yates refereed County on three occasions last season; in charge for our home and away defeats to Barrow AFC, as well as our 3-0 win away at league champions, Leyton Orient last April. He twice took charge of a game involving Mansfield, overseeing their 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and a 3-1 win at AFC Wimbledon in League Two.
The official has been an EFL referee since the 2016/17 campaign, and took charge of 35 games in all competitions last season in League One (15), League Two (14), the EFL Trophy (2), Emirates FA Cup (2) and Carabao Cup (2). In that time, he issued 138 yellow cards, one red card and awarded one penalty.
Since the start of this season, Yates has taken charge of four first-team fixtures, showing 14 yellow cards, no red cards and awarded two spot kicks. His last game saw him take charge of Northampton’s 2-2 draw with Lincoln City in League One, on Tuesday 15th August.
The assistant referees at the One Call Stadium will be Kevin Morris and Ivan Stankovic, with Marc Wilson the Fourth Official.
