Referee Thomas Parsons has been selected as the man in the middle for Saturday’s League Two fixture between Stockport County and Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
It will be the 13th time that Parsons has refereed County since the first occasion against Chorley in April 2018. Most recently, he oversaw our 3-1 win away at Harrogate Town in League Two, back in October. His last time refereeing Grimsby came in November 2022, taking charge for their 5-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in the Emirates FA Cup.
Parsons took charge of 25 games in all competitions last season, the majority of which came in League Two. In that time, he issued a total of 113 yellow cards, four red cards and awarded two penalties.
Across the 14 games he has overseen so far this campaign, the official has so far shown 68 yellows, two reds and pointed to the penalty spot on one occasion. His last game came in League One on January 27th, as he took charge of Lincoln City’s 0-0 draw at home to Peterborough United.
The Assistant Referees at Blundell Park will be Wayne Grunnill and Danny Guest, whilst the Fourth Official will be Jamie O’Connor.
