Referee Alan Young has been confirmed as the referee for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture between County and Grimsby Town at Edgeley Park.
Swindon-born Young, an EFL referee since 2018, has taken charge of eight games so far this season in League Two (3), League One (1), the Carabao Cup (1) and Papa John’s Trophy (3), issuing 31 yellow cards and five reds.
Last season he took charge of 19 games in all competitions, showing 76 yellow cards and four reds. It will be his first time refereeing County, whilst he was last in charge of a game involving Grimsby in April 2021, a 2-1 win for the Mariners away at Oldham.
He will be assisted on the day by Johnathon Bickerdike and Christopher Husband, whilst the fourth official on the day will be Darren Drysdale.
