The Tyneside star joined England’s national team in 1991, playing in seven major tournaments and becoming England’s captain at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000. Since retiring, Shearer is known for his media work, featuring as a regular pundit on Match of the Day on top of his podcast alongside Gary Lineker and Micah Richards – The Rest is Football.
