Due to the unfortunate postponement of Saturday’s home clash with Nuneaton Town, the vast majority of County fans will not have been able to pick up a programme for the game. In order to keep you up-to-date, here are the Boardroom notes from Saturday.
Off the field discussions with potential investors are ongoing but confidentiality is the key with such matters and we hope our supporters will understand that it would not be helpful to publicise any details of such discussions until they are at an appropriate stage.
When the current Board of Directors and advisors got together nearly four years ago we agreed that our priorities were in essence the three S’s.
To date we have achieved the first two, Stability and Sustainability. We are now working hard to achieve the third – the Stadium.
We have an excellent relationship with Stockport Council and they are working with us to find the best way for the club to re-acquire Edgeley Park and work jointly to deliver important services to the Stockport community.
We have also politely and professionally made it clear to the council and Sale Sharks that we would not consider the return of rugby to Edgeley Park.
We are focussed on working together with the council to reach a situation whereby our spiritual home returns to club ownership.
The Directors and advisors are all supporters of the club and our fan base can rest assured that we will continue to make decisions that are in the best long-term interests of Stockport County.
