Referee Update: Young in charge for Swindon visit

Referee Alan Young has been selected to take charge of Saturday’s League Two fixture between County and Swindon Town at the County Ground.

The official has already refereed County once this season, taking charge for our 3-1 defeat at home to Grimsby Town last October – a game that saw Callum Camps receive a straight red card. It will also be the second time this campaign he has refereed a game involving Swindon, having overseen their 2-1 home defeat to Northampton, also in October.

Young is now into his fifth season as an EFL referee. Last season he took charge of 20 games in all competitions, mostly in League Two, during which time he issued 79 yellow cards, five red cards and awarded seven penalties.

In 27 games so far this campaign, he has shown 109 yellows, seven reds and pointed to the penalty spot twice. His last game saw him take charge of Stevenage’s victory over Crewe Alexandra, on Tuesday 14th March.

He will be assisted on the day by Dean Treleaven & James Vallance, whilst the Fourth Official will be Adam Ricketts.
