Referee Carl Boyeson has been selected to take charge of Tuesday night’s clash between Rochdale and County in League Two.
Boyeson has been an EFL referee since the 2002/03 season, first officiating a game involving County in March 2003 – a 1-0 defeat away at Barnsley. He last refereed us in the EFL back in February 2011, taking charge in a 4-1 home defeat to Macclesfield Town.
His last game involving Rochdale came in December 2021, overseeing their 3-0 win against Newport County at the Crown Oil Arena.
In total, the official took charge of 25 games in all competitions last season, the majority in League One and League Two, issuing 95 yellow cards, five red cards and awarding four penalties. So far this campaign, he has shown 59 yellows and two reds in 16 games, whilst awarding four spot kicks.
His assistants on the day will be Mark Cunliffe and Lisa Rashid, whilst the Fourth Official will be Lee Freeman.
