Referee watch: County v Tranmere Rovers

Christopher Pollard will be the referee when County take on Tranmere Rovers at Edgeley Park this weekend, in League Two.

It will be the official’s first time taking charge of a game involving County in the EFL, where he has been a referee since 2019. He last refereed a game involving Tranmere in January 2022, overseeing their 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United at Prenton Park.

Last season saw him take charge of 25 games in all competitions, during which time he issued 78 yellow cards, one red card and awarded five penalties.

So far this campaign, he has refereed 16 games in League One (7), League Two (4), the National League (1), the Carabao Cup (2) and the Papa John’s Trophy (2). During that time he has shown 57 yellows, one red and awarded two spot-kicks.

His assistants on the day will be Kevin Mulraine and Matthew Sowerby, whilst Johnathon Bickerdike is the Fourth Official.
