Referee watch: Drysdale taking charge of Harrogate game

Experienced referee Darren Drysdale has been selected to take charge of Saturday’s League Two meeting between County and Harrogate Town at the EnviroVent Stadium.

Drysdale has been an official in the EFL since 2004, last refereeing County all the way back in October 2010 – a 5-0 home defeat at the hands of Hereford United. It will be the second time this season that he has refereed a game involving Harrogate, having overseen their 2-1 win over Morecambe in the Papa John’s Trophy.

The official took charge of 35 games in all competitions last season, issuing 113 yellow cards, three red cards and awarding seven penalties.

So far this campaign he has refereed 21 games in League One (8), League Two (8), the FA Cup (1) and Papa John’s Trophy, showing 60 yellows, two reds and awarding two spot kicks. His most recent fixture saw him take charge of Barrow 0-2 Northampton Town in League Two, on January 28th.

His assistants on the day will be Jake Topp and Grant Taylor, whilst Wayne Grunnill will be the Fourth Official.
