We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Jake Simpson as the Club’s new Head of Performance, with the former County player joining from Hartlepool United.
The 31-year-old, who spent a season at Edgeley Park in 2010/11, graduated from a degree in sports rehabilitation following his retirement, and also completed a Masters in Strength and Conditioning whilst working at Carlisle United as a fitness coach.
He will again link up with manager Dave Challinor, having worked with the County boss at both Hartlepool and AFC Fylde, under the titles of Head of Sports Science and Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach respectively.
Jake joins the backroom team in the position vacated by Neil Parsley, who has left the club, and his role at Edgeley Park will see him work closely alongside physio Luke Smith and Head of Strength and Conditioning Tom Eastwood in ensuring the players remain in peak physical condition and maximise their potential on the pitch.
