Liam McAlinden - Forward

Player Profile

Prolific forward Liam McAlinden was top goal scorer for Halifax this season before his contract expired this January, having scored ten goals in 28 appearances for the Shaymen, including scoring Halifax’s goal in their 5-1 defeat at Edgeley Park on Boxing Day. McAlinden’s ability to play anywhere across the front four made him a key target for Jim Gannon once he became available.

The Cannock born attacker started his career at Wolves, and has achieved international appearances for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland at the U21 level. Making his debut for Wolves against Burnley in 2013, he went on to make 19 appearances for the Club, scoring his first professional goal in a 1-0 win at MK Dons.

Subsequent spells at Exeter City and Cheltenham Town followed for the forward before his move to FC Halifax, where his impressive performances caught the eye of many Football League sides before he signed for County.

Liam netted his first goal for County in our 1-1 draw at Dagenham & Redbridge earlier in the season.
