Ryan Croasdale - Midfielder

FIRST TEAM PLAYER

Player Profile

Former Kidderminster and AFC Fylde midfielder Ryan signed a three-year deal at Edgeley Park in the Summer of 2020.

Ryan began his career coming through the academy at Preston North-End, making one competitive appearance for the Club, whilst also enjoying loan spells at non-league Tamworth and Stalybridge.

The England C international then spent two years at Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Kidderminster in 2016, scoring his first goal for the Harriers against County at Edgeley Park, in a 1-0 away win.

After being named Club Captain in his second year at Kidderminster, Ryan then moved on to AFC Fylde in 2018, for a fee of £50,000. He spent two years at Mill Farm, making over 50 appearances and helping them to the 2019 National League Play-Off final, as well as victory in the FA Trophy at Wembley – scoring in their semi-final victory at Edgeley Park.

He was again on the scoresheet against County in the 2019/20 season, but couldn’t prevent his side from falling to a 2-1 defeat in a season that would go on to see the Coasters relegated, before he made the move to SK3.

Ryan made 42 appearances in his first season at Edgeley Park, scoring once. His tireless displays in the middle of the park didn’t go unnoticed by his peers either, as he was named joint winner of the Players’ Player of the Year award for 2020/21 alongside Ben Hinchliffe.

Ryan was a key part of our 2021/22 title winning season, playing an incredible 50 times in all competitions, starting all 44 of our National League games as we were crowned champions. He formed part of a formidable midfield three in the second half of the season, alongside Will Collar and Antoni Sarcevic.

Ever reliable, Crossy continued to play a big role at Edgeley Park in his first year as a first-team EFL midfielder, signing a new two-year deal at the beginning of the season. Our midfield engine made 55 appearances in all competitions during the 2022/23 campaign, the joint-most of any player that season. He made his 100th appearance for County in August 2022, in an EFL Trophy tie away at Port Vale.

Ryan’s home sponsor is Matthew Standing and his away sponsor is Allen’s Accountants.

Ryan’s Stockport County Appearance Number (SCAN) is: 1402
