29-year-old Scott Quigley came to County at the start of the 21/22 season, signing a three year deal for an undisclosed fee from Barrow.
The former Barrow striker scored an impressive 35 goals during his last two seasons at Holker Street, scoring 20 league goals for the Bluebirds during their National League title winning season in 2020, winning the golden boot in the process.
Quigley began his career with Welsh Premier League Side The New Saints, contributing to five league title wins after coming through the academy, while also gaining European experience playing in the Champions League Qualifying Rounds. During his time there, he racked up 61 goals before moving to Blackpool in 2017. While at Bloomfield Road, the striker enjoyed a successful loan spell at Wrexham in the second half of the 2017/18 season, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances for the National League side. After joining Port Vale and FC Halifax Town on loan, Scott signed for Barrow in 2019 on a three year deal.
While at Barrow he formed a prolific partnership with County’s own John Rooney, with the Bluebirds gaining promotion back to the Football League in 2020 for the first time in 48 years. Quigley’s 20 goals in 35 appearances earned him a place in the National League Team of the Season. He then went on to score 15 goals during Barrow’s first season back in League Two to help ensure their survival and was soon voted as the Club’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2020/21.
Scott made the move to Edgeley Park in July 2021 and made his debut in a one-nil win over Southend. He scored his first goal for the Club in a 3-0 FA Cup win against Stamford.
