Midfielder Will, 26, joined the Club in February 2020 on a free contract from Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical – the first signing made under then-County boss Simon Rusk
Collar had previously worked under Rusk during his time in Brighton’s Academy, going on to make his debut for the Premier League club in an EFL Cup tie against Southampton in 2018.
In the Summer of 2019, the midfielder made the move to Hamilton, making 25 appearances during his time in Scotland, helping the side retain their place in the top division in the 2019/20 season, scoring his one goal for the Club in a crucial 2-1 victory over relegation rivals Hearts.
Will made 15 appearances for the Club in the second half of the 2021/22 season, scoring his first County goal with a screamer in our 3-0 win over Eastleigh.
The appointment of manager Dave Challinor in November 2022 was the making of Will, as he became a mainstay in our title-winning midfield three, showing a real eye for goal with 11 in all competitions to go with his ten assists, emerging as a firm fan favourite with the Edgeley Park faithful.
He continued to show his ruthless eye for goal in the club’s first season back in the Football League, scoring 13 times in 47 appearances as we fell agonisingly short of back-to-back promotions, losing to Carlisle in the League Two Play-Off Final. Will made his 100th appearance for County against Rochdale at Edgeley Park, in April 2022.
