The key driver behind our plans for expanding and improving Edgeley Park is our 7 year vision to return Stockport County to the Championship. By investing in the club’s infrastructure, we are building a platform for future success.
We anticipate that the demand for tickets will increase as we rise through the Football League and we want to be able to accommodate our supporters, both new and old. If Stockport County is to return to the Championship, we want to do so in a stadium that is fit for the higher echelons of English football.
Ultimately, our vision is to increase the capacity of Edgeley Park from the current 10,900 seats to approximately 20,000 seats in time for Championship football. This increase would be delivered gradually over time, in line with future promotions.
Our vision for Edgeley Park is not just about capacity. We want Edgeley Park to offer one of the best matchday experiences in the country. From the way fans arrive at the stadium, to the access to high-quality food and drink and not forgetting views of the action on the pitch, we want to set ourselves the highest standards.
New, modern facilities will also give us the opportunity to improve our environmental performance and support Stockport and Greater Manchester’s carbon reduction targets.
