Vote to Help County’s Mental Health Programme!

We are delighted to announce that our Stockport County Community Foundation have been shortlisted as one of 14 charities to be given the opportunity to raise some much needed funds from the Vernon Building Society Community Awards 2018.

The Community Awards supports a selection of charities with a £10,000 pot each year. Each shortlisted charity will get a percentage of the pot, based on the amount of votes they receive.

Votes can be made within the six Vernon branches from the 10th September to 15th October or online by clicking on the link: www.thevernon.co.uk/community_awards

They plan to use this valuable funding to support the Mental Health Football and Multisport Project by continuing to provide weekly coaching sessions to service users and monthly Football Tournaments for those living with serious mental illness. They are desperately in need of funding to purchase much needed new multisport equipment and footballs for the project, training venue hire, tournament costs and funding coaching costs. This will help benefit the local community in many ways such as extending opportunity and choice, providing opportunities for those with serious mental illness to take part in physical activity and also promoting health and wellbeing.

Please spend a few minutes to click on the link above and help support such a fantastic project!
