We are pleased to announce that Will Collar has signed a new two-year deal at the Club, keeping him at Edgeley Park until 2023.
Midfielder Will, 24, was the first signing made under Simon Rusk’s regime back in February when he agreed a short-term contract at the club after terminating his contract at SPL side Hamilton Academical a few days earlier.
The former Brighton academy graduate has made 14 appearances for County so far this season, memorably scoring his first County goal with a screamer in our 3-0 home win against Eastleigh in March. He has also registered a further two assists in his short time at Edgeley Park.
Director of Football Simon Wilson said:
“Ever since he arrived here, Will has shown his desire to be part of what we are doing at County – firstly through the compromises he made at the outset in order to come in on the short term contract, before backing that up with his application since he has been here.
“I’m therefore delighted to agree with Will a further 2 years, and to retain not only another good player in our group, who still has much potential, but also a very good person.”
Manager Simon Rusk said:
I’m delighted to have Will on board for another two years. He has fitted into the squad really well, and has contributed with some excellent performances already. He has room for improvement improvement ahead of him, and I wish him well with the next part of his career with us here.
