A Message from Michael Raynes

Head of Football for the Football Education Michael Raynes has given his thoughts on another great term for our first- and second-year students:

“I feel it’s been a great term, and one that has been packed with great experiences for the students, both on and off the pitch. Many of our second-year students are looking ahead to the next chapter in their careers, while our first-years have settled in very well.

Our students are all playing at the top-end of their leagues and are developing with every session. They have all adapted to full-time football and that’s very pleasing for us to see. In the classroom, our second-years have finalised their UCAS applications, and have all been accepted into their first-choice University.

We have had visits from a group of first-team players, who have delivered training sessions to our students as they look to achieve their UEFA B Licence. This was a great experience for our students, who gained first-hand experience from current professionals.

A number of our students have completed their ‘Introduction to Talent Identification in Football’ course, which is the first step needed to gain a career in Football recruitment. This sets our students up for a life in sport, whether they choose to continue playing or take another path.

We are looking ahead at some exciting opportunities for the next term, and one final push before the lads finish for the summer holidays.”
