A Message from Michael Raynes

Head of Football for Football Education Michael Raynes has given his thoughts on the end of term and year, and what we can expect for next year:

“I feel it’s been a great term for both the students and the staff and we have seen the end of another successful year. Plenty of the lads have developed both on and off the pitch and our second-year students are taking their next steps. Some have played with the B-team this season and played alongside the Academy Scholars.

We’ve won two league titles this season across eight teams which is amazing to see, and I just want to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the lads, Paul Turnbull and Tony Coyne on their success.

47 of our students who applied for University were accepted, and they are moving on to study the likes of Physiotherapy, Sport and Exercise Science, Mechanical Engineering and Theology and Business. A number of our students are also coaching in the USA this summer, notably in California and Florida.

We’re proud of what the lads have achieved over the year. The first-years have really settled in and are ready for the challenge when they return in September and we look forward to welcoming the next group to Stockport Sports Village when we return for the first term of the year.”
