An Update from Head of Academy Coaching Mike Jeffries

Head of Academy Coaching Mike Jeffries offered an update on the coaching set up at Stockport Sports Village, and what’s coming up in the near future.

On the Pitch

Shrewsbury (H)

County started the month at home to Shrewsbury Town, where the young Hatters were defeated 0-2, despite having a number of chances.

Rochdale (A)

County then travelled to Rochdale on the following Tuesday, where they emerged 2-1 victors, bouncing back from their 0-2 defeat to Shrewsbury days prior.

Carlisle (A)

Our Academy scholars travelled north to face off against Carlisle United. The points were shared in an enthralling 3-3 encounter, which saw County on top for large spells in the game.

Salford (H)

In their penultimate game of the season, County hosted Salford City, where they emerged 2-0 winners. The young Hatters only have one game left to play, where they will host Wrexham at Edgeley Park.

Player Progression

Ashton Mee

Ashton Mee celebrated as a champion this month. The young midfielder made numerous appearances for the first-team, B-team and Scholars throughout the season, and his hard work helped County reach League One.

Luke Partington

Luke Partington was awarded the ‘Academy Scholars Player of the Season’ at County’s Trophy Ceremony at Edgeley Park last month.

They finished the group in third place after falling to a 2-1 defeat against FC Pyunik.
