After receiving Category Three status over the Summer, the Academy have announced a new coaching staff structure for the Professional Development Phase for the 2022/23 season.
Jamie Crowther is the club’s new Under-18s lead coach, with Mike Jeffries moving to the role of Head of Coaching.
Mike has been at the Club now for 2 years. He is a UEFA A-Licensed coach and has completed FA Youth Modules 1, 2 and 3. He has 15 years of coaching experience at Halifax Town, Huddersfield Town, Oldham Athletic, and Burnley. In his new role, Mike will manage and monitor the implementation and development of the coaching programme to ensure excellence in all areas, as well as overseeing the development and delivery of the coaching staff.
Jamie is also a UEFA A-Licensed coach and a Pro License candidate. He has a MSc Advanced Performance Football Coaching and BSc Football Coaching and Performance Specialist, as well as 10 years of coaching experience as a first-team player/coach and Head of Youth Development at Airbus FC.
Jamie is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the PDP coaching programme and will lead the U18s team in their games programme, as well as helping to manage the transition of players into the first-team squad.
