Academy Student of the month

As part of our ‘Celebrating Success’ series at Stockport County Academy, we have our Student of the Month award for March.

Oliver Brockbank has been selected as the winner, for his consistent top work, his attitude and for helping others. We caught up with Oliver about the award.

Ollie congratulations on winning the March Student of the Month award at Stockport County Academy. How do you feel?

OB: I feel proud to get this award as it shows my good standards and hard work in the classrooms are being recognised by the tutors.

When you’re getting praise from your tutors who have said that the work you have done so far has been some of the best amongst your group, how does that make you feel?

OB: It’s very pleasing to know that my hard work I put into class work and my assignments are being recognised and rewarded.

So, we are now approaching the end of your first year at the academy, what are you currently enjoying about your course?

OB: I’m just enjoying the variety of the units within the course with them all being based around football and sport, it’s much easier to work hard in something you enjoy.

With your time here at the academy to date, what would you say has been your favourite moment? Both with education and football?

OB: In education I’d say my best moment has been achieving distinction grade on all my work, in the football side, I would say being involved in the FA Youth Cup run with the second years, it was a great experience despite not playing.

And lastly Ollie, what are your personal targets for the academy year and beyond?

OB: I just want to keep working hard both on and off the pitch, aiming towards achieving a professional contract.

Thanks Ollie! It’s been great catching up with you today, and we’re all looking forward to seeing you carry on your great work!
