Briggs and Dickinson presented with legacy caps

Former County players Keith Briggs and Liam Dickinson recently became the latest members of the Stockport County Players Association to be presented with their legacy caps.

The pair were presented the caps by Club President, Steve Bellis and Head of the Players Association, James Jennings at half-time in the club’s recent 1-1 draw with play-off rivals Salford City at Edgeley Park.

Former County captain Briggs made 166 appearances for the club across two spells, scoring 14 times from midfield, having first joined the club as a trainee in 1999.

Striker Dickinson joined the club from Woodley Sports in 2005, going on to score 36 goals in 121 appearances for the club across two spells. 21 of those goals came during the 2007/08 season, as County secured promotion from League Two via the play-offs under Jim Gannon – with Dicko hitting the winning goals in both the semi-final and final.

The legacy caps are a newly introduced initiative by the Players Association, helping us to celebrate each players’ unique place in Stockport County history.

The caps are uniquely designed with the Club crest, the players’ name and the appearance number on them, and will be retrospectively awarded to all living former players to have played 100 or more games for the Club. These ‘lifetime caps’ for former players will be designed with their total number of appearances for County.
