County manager Dave Challinor and defender Fraser Horsfall were both recognised at the prestigious Armstrong Project North-West Football Awards at Old Trafford last night, picking up awards following last season’s League Two title success.
500 esteemed guests from across the footballing world attended the star-studded event, hosted by broadcasters Eilidh Barbour and Dion Dublin, at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. Winners were crowned in a range of player categories, alongside accolades for clubs, communities, and unsung heroes.
The gaffer was named as the Manager of the Season for 2023/24, having guided County to a first EFL title in 57 years – crowned Champions of League Two with two games to spare.
It’s Challinor’s second league title in three seasons at Edgeley Park, having also led us to the National League in 2022, and remarkably the seventh promotion of his managerial career.
Fraser, 28, was a key part of that title success, starting 45 of our 46 league games at the heart of our back line as we finished with the second-best defensive record in the division, whilst also keeping the most clean sheets. His form saw him named the NWFA League Two Player of the Season at last night’s awards.
