The Club are aware of an incident of alleged racist abuse towards County player Ryan Johnson, in the first half of our game at Barnet at the weekend.
The incident, that occurred in the home stands, was immediately reported by Johnson to the on-field referee, who briefly called the game to a stop.
The matter is currently under investigation by the appropriate authorities, and the Club continue to monitor the situation. Stockport County Football Club have a strong zero tolerance policy on any form of discrimination – racism, or any other form of discrimination, has no place at the Club, in football or in society in general.
We continue to offer our full support as a Club to Ryan throughout this process. No further comment will be made at this time.
